Seventeen folks have died and three had been injured after a crane collapsed on Monday night time on the website of an under-construction bridge in Shahapur, about 70km (43 miles) north of town of Mumbai within the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
The victims are principally building staff and website engineers.
The police, fireplace brigade and Nationwide Catastrophe Response Pressure (NDRF) have been deployed in rescue operations on the accident website.
Rescue personnel are searching for others trapped beneath the crane after it collapsed. The state authorities has introduced an inquiry.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted his condolences and introduced compensation for the injured and households of the victims.
