GOMA: No less than 13 individuals together with 9 kids have been killed when a soldier in east Democratic Republic of Congo opened hearth on individuals gathered to mourn his deceased baby on Saturday night time, the military and an area official stated on Sunday.
The capturing occurred within the village of Nyakova on the banks of Lake Albert in Congo’s japanese Ituri province.
“The soldier opened hearth on all these round him. A dozen individuals died,” Ituri military spokesman Jules Ngongo stated through phone.
Search groups are on the lookout for the soldier, a member of Congo’s navy, and an investigation into the incident has been opened, he stated.
Village chief Oscar Baraka Muguwa stated 13 individuals have been killed, together with 9 kids.
It was unclear what led the soldier to start capturing. In accordance with Muguwa, the soldier was involved his baby could be buried with out him there.
